Condor Operator Plate CarrierPlate Carriers, most airsofters will have seen these on the skirmish field and lots of companies produce them. They can vary in quality and price but one brand consistently producing great quality items at an affordable price with a good choice of colours and designs is Condor.

Plate Carriers are great for the airsofter who wants to go into the field carrying everything they could possibly need and this one’s no exception as it contains as much molle real-estate as you could possibly want – front, back and of course sides. Even the top rows of Velcro on the front and back are molle enabled – well rows one and three are and provide a great base for name tapes as well as your larger patches, but you will cover these as you add pouches though! I like the velco molle on the back which still allows you to ‘identify’ yourself to team mates which is useful when you all rock the same kit which can make identification ‘challenging’ sometimes.

Condor Operator PC & KitEverything about the Condor Operator Plate Carrier is adjustable justifying the ‘one size’ fits most you see on websites. The cummerbund section is elasticated to the rear and can be adjusted by laces at the rear and the quick release side buckles under the side panels on both left and right sides. The side sections also have inner pockets (with metal drainage holes), which could be suitable for adding padding or stowage. Internally the vest is lined with lightly padded ‘air mesh’ which adds to the comfy fit and feel. Both front and back sections have pockets so you can add internal armour plates, but do you really need to lug that weight for airsoft? (you can get soft replica airsoft plates (or make your own) if you so wish).

The front panel features a centrally located pocket for maps or access to other stuff closed by velco for its entire length and a stud with a pull tab. It’s tough to open but needs to be if you start loading the molle on the front with mag pouches. The whole front lower section lifts up for the sides to come in and fasten via Velcro. The molle across the whole Plate Carrier is heavy duty with the front panels being 6 molle wide (you have also a small section each side as well but it won’t be big enough to accommodate any straps) the back panel is also 6 molle wide. The side panels contain 3 rows of molle but the amount across will depend on your girth really!

The front and back are attached at the shoulder via wide tough webbing and quick release clips, with each strap covered in a wide padded cover which is easily removed and is ideal for passing comms or slings through etc. The inner of each pad is finished in a non-slip type finish – ideal for support and easing fatigue on those poor shoulders! Don’t forget the grab handle on the back for emergency evacs!

Yosser says: If you take the time to fit this properly it will make a comfortable and ideal Plate Carrier for all your airsoft kit. It’s easy to see why Condor is so popular with airsofters if this is anything to go by, I’m pretty new to the brand but if this Plate Carrier is anything to go by I’ll be checking out some more gear from this brand may be in FG not to mention all the pouches and stuff to trick this out!
